“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”
— Henry David Thoreau
I think this is a very fitting quote as we are on this spiritual journey. We all have a goal – whether it was to participate in the Daniel Fast or to fast from sweets or a media fast, etc. or maybe it was to participate in prayer consistently. And while, our goal is making the 21 days without slipping or cheating from whatever we are fasting or to show up in participate, the real aspect of this fast is what we become during this time. This happens when we are able to let go, including letting go of the excess baggage that we emotionally carry and surrender. Truly surrender and when we do, we grow and become the person that we were destined to become. And then our life changes and changes for the better.
I do not have any recipes to share tonight. We got a wonderful chance to spend time with the Ginger’s parents. They came over for a visit, and while I have a recipe that is almost ready to post, it is not quite finished, so..tonight, I just ask you – what do you need to surrender? Are you really ready to say, Thy will be done Lord. Thy will be done. I may not like my current circumstances, but I know that you are good and will see me through this and bring me on the other side Lord. Thy will be done.
I know that I am still surrendering, I am still letting go, still declaring – Thy will be done. But each day, it is easier and easier. I did things my way and that did not work. Now I am ready to do it his way. Thy will be done.
Until next time,
may blessings abound,
P.S:…this is important. Show us some love….
