Spring has officially sprung! We had a fairly mild yet rainy winter, but if you are like me you are ready to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the great outdoors. I know that I am a little stir crazy and so this week, that is what I did. I took a day and went to Oak Mountain State Park. I love this park. It has trails, a “beach”, archery, waterfalls, golf course (for those that golf) and more. I used to go here 3-4 days a week, but because life happens, it is hard to do that right now. It is by far my favorite place to disconnect, regroup and refocus and Tuesday was a perfect day to do it. It was a gorgeous day and it was perfect for a 4 mile trail run and then some reading and just soaking up the sun.
This picture was taken close to the Marina. Which I can not believe I forgot to mention before because they rent paddle boards and canoes, but right now they are only open on the weekends though. I am in love with paddle boards and will eventually be the proud owner of one. Anyways, I thought the water looked gorgeous and I had to share.
After my run I went to the beach and sat out, soaked up some sun and continued my reading of ‘She Means Business’ by Carrie Green.
I really like this book and I do not think that it applies for women only – I think anyone can benefit from the inspiration, challenges and stories that the book offers. I will probably do a more in-depth review once I finish the book. I bring this book up, because we are at the end of March. We are almost starting the 4th month of the year and before we do, I think it is a good time to reflect on what you have accomplished in the first quarter of the year and what you would still like to accomplish. What are your long term goals? What about your goals for the next 3 months? The next week? Are you on track to reach your goals? If not, be honest with yourself and really reflect on what you can do to accomplish those goals. It may mean making some hard decisions and saying no to some engagements, turning the tv off or gasp – NOT scrolling through Facebook. If we truly want to accomplish a goal, then it needs to be written down and the time allotted to accomplish the same, needs to be scheduled into your daily life. If we truly want or desire a goal, then we make or create the time for it and not excuses.
In these final days of March, take the time to reflect and write down what you want to accomplish these next 3 months. It can be as simple or extravagant as you want, but make it attainable and measurable. Over the next 3 months, some of my goals are to revamp the website, to make it to Oak Mtn at least twice a month and to revamp the Etsy store adding new product. For my short term goal – to enjoy my mother in laws visit and to try a new recipe of a creamy stuffed zucchini bake – more details soon. But here is the thing, you need to tell at least one person what your goal or goals are so they can check in with you – and keep you accountable. Feel free to share your goal below and lets make these next 3 months magical.
Until next time,
May blessings abound,
